When I Asked AI Why My Site Doesn't Rank, the Answer Was Brutally Honest
The other day, frustrated that my carefully crafted site was invisible in search results, I lashed out at an AI in a half-joking fit of despair.
"Hey, why isn't my site showing up in search results at all?"
The AI's response was colder and more cynical than I ever imagined.
1. The Brutal Truth According to AI
To summarize the AI's logic, the Google Algorithm Gods seem to judge my site based on these criteria:
The "No Ads = No Value" Myth:
・A site without ads is often flagged as "too niche" or "not for general consumption."
Favoritism for Big Media:
・Unlike major sites plastered with ads, a self-built personal site is dismissed as "lacking information" or "boring" by today's standards.
In short, my attempt to keep things clean and user-friendly was interpreted by the search engine as a "lack of effort."
2. The Broken Definition of a "High-Quality Site"
Doesn't this mean the internet's definition of "quality" is fundamentally broken? It feels like the sites being rewarded are the ones shoving shady ads and scammy banners down users' throats.
As long as you paste enough ads and maintain a "professional look," you rank high, even with hollow content. Meanwhile, personal sites offering genuine, pure information are buried at the bottom of the ocean. "User First" is a lie; the reality is "Monetization First."
3. I Won't Sell My Soul
I have zero intention of selling my soul to this ad-bloated culture. I decided I won't clutter my site with meaningless ads just to please Google. I’d rather keep my site a "hidden gem" for those who truly appreciate the content. Even if I drift away from what the internet calls "success," I’m sticking to my own truth.
