3D printer

2025 marks a year of new challenges for Alaudae.JP. While our core business has primarily focused on web development and handicraft production, we've now ventured into the realm of 3D printing. This decision was driven by the essential need to produce and sell original jig parts crucial for our handicraft production.

A Costly and Significant Decision

For research or personal projects, a relatively inexpensive 3D printer might suffice. However, Alaudae.JP's goal is production and sales. This necessitates a high-performance 3D printer capable of stably producing high-quality products. We faced significant internal debate on whether to make this expensive investment, especially with almost no current income. Yet, our strong conviction that "the appeal of the handicraft materials we currently sell can be maximized by combining them with original jig parts" ultimately spurred us forward.

The Uncharted Path and Unexpected Hurdles

After purchasing a 3D printer in January 2025, we initially thought we could begin producing jig parts immediately. This was a significant miscalculation. Design and 3D printer operation were entirely new experiences for us. Unlike personal use, production for sale demands strict product quality. As we couldn't sell subpar items, we repeatedly remade prototypes and revised designs, keenly realizing that creating satisfactory products wasn't easy.

The biggest obstacle, however, was managing the harmful emissions from the 3D printer. While adopting existing treatment methods would have been straightforward, our "unnecessary spirit of challenge" kicked in, leading us to build our own original exhaust treatment system. This system alone consumed approximately six months of our time.

Six Months of Trial and Error, Leading to Full-Scale Production!

After roughly six months of trial and error with the 3D printer itself, design software, and the construction of the harmful exhaust treatment system, we've finally established a satisfactory production environment and design process.

Moving forward, we plan to add a new "3D Printing" section to our content. There, we'll sequentially share our efforts related to 3D printing and the knowledge we've gained along the way.
