Never Compromise on Security When Choosing Your Tools
Don't get me wrong—I’m not saying "Don't ever use SP Page Builder." Having used it myself, I fully appreciate its unique strengths.
However, what I cannot accept is JoomShaper's attitude toward its users. Is the tool for the users, or for the developer's ego? The line felt far too blurred.
A Decade of Ignoring Joomla’s Standards
Joomla has clear "media file placement rules" designed to keep sites secure. Yet, according to the developers of Akeeba, JoomShaper (Helix Ultimate) has been ignoring these official rules for over 10 years.
Rule Violation:
・Files are not placed where they should be for proper security.。
User Burden:
・Because they defy official standards, users are forced to apply special configurations (workarounds) every single time.
Development Lag:
・By ignoring the standards, their response to Joomla updates is always a step behind.
"It is quite insane that they have refused to follow Joomla standards for over a decade." When a security expert is forced to say this, can you really trust that tool with your site?
Honesty Over New Features
Their new service, "EasyStore," which they confidently called a "game-changer," is predictably a disaster—ridden with bugs and a flood of complaints. It’s still at a "beta" level of quality.
Even a non-developer could see that launching in that state was impossible. Why did they talk so big? I simply cannot understand it.
The bottom line: There is no future in a stance that neglects security. This departure confirms that my choice was the right one.
