Pitfalls of Joomla! Multilingual Settings and the Current State of SEO (2)
For the past few days, I've been more focused on wrestling with Google Search Console than traditional SEO tactics.
Initially, identifying and removing unnecessary URLs was quite a challenge. The same pages kept appearing on the list, making progress slow. However, through persistent efforts, I managed to drastically reduce the number of unnecessary pages from 10,000 to 9,100.
On the other hand, the number of indexed pages is about 500 more than the actual page count. This suggests that Google still considers a significant number of these pages as canonical.
Given this situation, I've decided to pause the removal of unnecessary pages for now and have implemented a Robots.txt file. Going forward, I'll maintain this setting while continuing to request the removal of unnecessary pages and monitor the results.
In the past, SEO was simpler; creating high-quality content and providing valuable information to users was enough to gain search engine favor. However, Google's algorithms have become increasingly sophisticated, making SEO a more complex endeavor. It's unfortunate to see a decline in unique websites as everyone seems to be following the same SEO strategies.
The Current State and Future of SEO
While removing unnecessary pages using Google Search Console is a time-consuming process, it's essential for improving site quality. However, the lack of diversity in SEO strategies is concerning. Future SEO efforts will require us to adapt quickly to Google's algorithm updates and develop tailored strategies for each website.
